Lexington, Mass

This LO was created using Sketch 128 from The Scrappiest as my inspiration. These are photos from our trip last summer. We stayed in Lexington, Mass for a few days. From there we were able to travel to Boston and Plimoth. Lexington had a lot of places to visit. These were taken on our first day.

Great Escape

This is another photo from our trip to Great Escape last summer. It is my son, my daughter, and I coming down the log ride. Since my husband refuses to go on the ride he takes photos and squits us with water! I used the July 1st Sketch from Stuck Sketches for my LO design. I used the blue and yellow from my other LO to bring the two pages together.

Krajewski Twins

This LO celebrates the arrival of my sister's twins.

It was created to meet two different challenges.

The first is the June 15th sketch for Stuck?!

The second challenge is for the Monthly Challenge for Practical Scrappers. Their June challenge is "Behind Closed Cupboards" In this challenge I had to use something form my cupboards. I used aluminum foil to create my star for part of the background.

Congratulation Card

I created this card with the flowers for the challenge for Practical Scrapers.

I had just read in my Creating Keepsakes how to make flowers.

  • Use a 5X5 piece of patterned dublesided paper.

  • Draw a spiral on it and then sew a zig zag stitch on the line.

  • Next cut between the stiching.

  • Use a pencil to roll the spiral into a circle.

  • Use glue dots to adhere the spiral at each end.

  • Add a brad or pearl in the center.

  • Use paper to add a stem and leaves

  • Attach to you LO or card

For the other flowers I used craft flowers and added green paper for stems and leaves.

Surfing

My son loved trying his luck at "surfing" while at the Indoor Water Park. This LO was inspired from the Friday sketch from Practical Scrappers.
I tried to also meet a challenge to use something from my cupboard so I used coffee for my title. I used glue to "write" the title. Then I poured unused coffee grounds onto the glue. I liked the brown because the color was perfect for my LO.

Water

I created this LO based on the Friday sketch from june 1st on Stuck?! I painted vinyl for the circle and the title.

Eyelet challenge

I made this LO for the Practical Scrappers challenge to use eyelets. I used eyelets to outline the water in the "river". I also used eyelets underneath my title "Floating" to make it pop.

Just find time to scrap

Just a few minutes here or an hour there is what you need to get some scrapbooking done. For the first couple of years I mainly scrapped at my friends Scrap N Chat days. Then another friend set up an extra bedroom at her house where I could go and scrap. We could get together whenever we were free to work on our scrapbooks.
About 2 years after I started scrapbooking I transformed my walk in closet, which was also my sewing room, into my scraproom. Since I wasn't doing much sewing I thought it was the perfect place to do some crapping.
Now I am able to leave some pages out on the desk that I am working on. If I just have 5 mintues I can work on a layout by putting on an embellishment or looking through my supplies to find what I need next. When I have hours I can get a whole bunch of pages done!
