Life is good

My husband says people use their Smartphones and devices too much, but he does enjoy his ipad.   These photos were taken while at the hotel relaxing while on a short trip. He on his ipad and my daughter on her Smartphone.  I never got a photo of my son or I on our Smartphones.

I love to use twine and ribbon on my LOs.  The easiest way I know of attaching these is with  a stapler.  I have a stapler on my craft desk and use it a lot.

Here is sketch 412 from SBC.  I loved the patchwork idea of this sketch.  Not sure if my LO really had the same feel as a quilt.  I believe I will be using this again to get that quilt look perfected.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Magic Hat

I got messy with this LO.  I used gesso over most of my paper and again on top of my misted doilies (after they dried).  I used photos from our tour of the Magic Hat Brewery in Vermont.

It was the sketch from Kreative Koncepts that I used to create this page.

I was inspired by that circle and before I knew it I had misted a bunch of doilies and had them plastered in a circle.  You can see this challenge on their website and then enter the challenge on their facebook page.

Winter Memories

Here is another look at our snow from last winter for Southern Girls.  I first used these photos for their challenge on texture.  You can see that post HERE.  For their Septmeber challenge I am to celebrate the "Winter Blues".  So I used blue paper and washi tape.

These fun snowflakes were attached with pop dots so they added depth to my page.

In years to come my kids an remember all the cold and snow we had in the winter of  2014 by looking at this page or the other page I made.  1 for each of the scrapbooks made for each kid.

Coupons

I love this photo of my hubby going through the coupons as he prepares his lists for grocery and general shopping that he does every other week.  He goes through the coupon box and puts the coupons in order of the aisles of each store.  Then he goes shopping around 6 am on Sunday mornings when there are few people in the stores.

Here is a close up look at my misting, gears with bling in the middle, and some buttons.  All of the paper, except for my journaling pieces, came form a kit so it was easy to coordinate the look.

I used the below LO from XOXO Scrapbooking as my inspiration for the way I put everything on my page.  I also used the challenge to use circles and bling from Kitchen Keepsake as my inspiration.  I knew I wanted to use the gears as my circles.

I am glad that I had this photo of my hubby.  It will help my kids remember all the shopping trips their dad made.  The kids sometimes helped with cutting the coupons, sorting them, or going shopping with him.

We are blessed

Monday is sketch day at SBC.  Here is sketch 411.

This is what I made.  I used the photo with my mom and all the grandkids.

It is always interesting to see how the same photo can be used on a LO is completely different ways.  To see this challenge and the other DT LOs go to the SBC blog.

Follow your heart

Here is a photo of my mom and all the grandchildren.  It is rare that they are all together so I was sure to get a photo.

At The Studio Challenges there is a Tic-Tac-Toe grid to chooses from to make your LO.

So here is what I chose: something that sparkles (my bling), chipboard (most of the flowers), and stars (2 silver chipboard ones and 1 paper one).

I loved using so many embellishments on one page.  That is not usually my style and it came out fine.

Trumpet Player

Today I have some photos that I took after my daughters Spring Concert.  She plays the trumpet and we can never really see her while she is playing on stage.  I took these photos when we got home from the concert.

I used the September 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches.  I  stitched my circles onto my background paper.  I then used several scraps left over from one of my kits for the strips that would be behind my photos.  I wanted to be sure to emphasize that she plays the trumpet although there is no trumpet in the photos so it is those words that I simply used for the title.

Me @ 49 and 10 months old

To scrap a photo of my self with my current age was the August challenge at Scrap YOUrself.  Since I didn't have my 50th birthday until last week and didn't have any of those photos printed yet so I used this fun photo from our trip to the Adirondack Museum in June.  I love this over sized chair and so had my husband take  an iPhone photo of me.
You may also notice that I have lots of groups of 3s on my page.  That is because the challenge at Kitchen Keepsake is to have sets of 3 on your page.
I have 3 stars, 3 flowers, 3 pieces of string, 3 buttons, 3 stick pins, 3 pieces of colored paper strips, and 3 pieces of patterned card stock.

I don't feel any older now that I am 50 and hope that feeling continues.

SBC Monday Sketch

Well sorry that I never got all the rest of the SS sketches from SBC up for you to see.  The end of August ended up being very busy for me.  Here is sketch 409

Here is what I made.  These are photos from last Christmas.

I create the banner from some squares that I cut in half.  To see what the other ladies created from this sketch head on over to SBC to see them all.
