Best Easter Ever

I love this photo of my kiddos from 2003.

I used these challenges when I created it:
  • The Studio Challenges.  12th March --Half;  Use a half page of patterned paper.
  • ScraPerfect.  March Layout challenge-- some kind of ribbon on your page as well as some fussy cutting.

More Easter 2003

This month at Pixels and Paper we are celebrating Easter with this cute inspiration image.  Your page certainly doesn't have to be about chocolate or bunnies, it can be about family gatherings, school Easter hat parades, egg hunts, trips away over this holiday period, fun things you did with the kids, whatever you like really - just don't forget to tell us what inspired you from our photograph.
The criteria is Easter.

Here is what I created:

You have until the end of the month to join in on our challenge

Easter 2002

I used this very old photo of the kids and I for this LO.

I am entering it into the Negative space challenge at Challenge YOUrself.

You have until April 4th to enter this challenge.

Pixels and Paper March Training

Today I am sharing a way to make your background have color and texture.
I started with a pizza sized box, a piece of bubble wrap, and a spray ink.

I put the bubble wrap inside the box and sprayed it with the ink.

Then I put my paper on top of the bubble wrap and pushed down to let the ink "stamp" on my paper.

This is what it looked like.

I moved the paper and then "stamped it" again on the bubble wrap.

Once the ink was dry I added washi tape strips near the side of each edge.

Then your back ground is done.
Once I added my photo, embellishments, string, and journaling my final Page looks like this:

I f you don't have any bubble wrap you probably have some other textured material that you can use to spray the ink on.  I am sure wrinkled up foil is will work.  I always put my paper into some kind of box before I spray it.  This helps to keep the ink from spraying all over my scrap room.

I hope you will have some fun with spray ink and bubble wrap soon!

Prom 2016

When we were taking photo at my mom's before Prom I realized this photo made my daughter look like she had antlers.  She had stood in front of one of my dad's animals hanging on the wall.  I had my daughter move to a different place and took more photos of her.  But, I just couldn't resist scrapping 1 of those photos with the antlers.

I used the March sketch from Stick it Down.

you have until the end of the month to join their challenge.

March Challenge at Pixels and Paper

I realize the month is half over and I never posted the challenge at Pixels and Paper
Here it is:
Welcome to our first month of Autumn down under and I hope some glorious weather awaits us - I always love our mid seasons, they are my favorite months of the year.

This month our challenge is a pretty one - please use this delightful image as your inspiration point and add the criteria of FLOWERS to your submission and please don't forget to tell us what inspired you.

Criteria is FLOWERS

I just loved these flowers from the inspiration photo. I found a photo of the flowers that my mother in law had at her house. She took the photo and it was with some other photos that she had given to me. What a memory this will be for my kids. Here is mine:
