Stuck Sketch for May 15th

I loved this sketch from Stuck Sketches.  I used 2 photos instead of 3 and turned one of my photos.  I used mostly paper left over from a kit and so it all was already color coordinated. I added a few embellishments, some twine and a couple other scraps of paper and it was done.

These photos are from our beer tour last summer.  To get all the details for this challenge click HERE.  You have 1 more day to enter.

SID

For the May 27th double page LO at Stick it Down I used photos from our trip to Mini Putt in Lake Placid.  Lake Placid is about an hour from our house and we usually travel there every summer.

I love the doubelpages challenges at SID because I am able to use multiple photos.  That works great to show an event from which I have taken many photos.  Their double page challenge is posted on the fourth Tuesday of each month.  For all the details click HERE.

Sketch #395 from Scrapbook Challenges

Here is my LO for Scrapbook Challenges sketch # 395.  This was out of my comfort zone.  To put the diagonal stripes on the page, some under the photo and some over proved to be a bit of a challenge to me.  I used washi tape.

I used the photo of my daughter from last summer with her new iphone.  Scrapbook Challenges has a new sketch each Monday and has a few other posts on the blog during the week.  You can also visit their facebook page.  Click HERE to visit their blog and get all the details.

Susan B Anthony as a scraplift

If you go over to XOXO Scrapbooking you will see a double page LO with photos from a photo booth.  it is from this LO that my inspiration came for my multiple photo LO began.  I did not have photo booth photos or even small photos so I used three photos that were very similar from our visit to the Susan B. Anthony museum last summer.  I spayed my background paper with paint.  While I was waiting for it to dry to pulled out house embellishments.  I used some other embellishments that were in the package with the house.  I knew they would be complimentary colors.
Here is what I came up with:

Here comes the sun...NOT

When we went to the PGA Championship golf last summer the second day we were there it rained a lot.  This photo is of my daughter and I as we stayed under the umbrella to watch the golfers putt.

My daughter looks up info on her phone as I look on.  We got soaked that day and then drove home in our wet clothes.  I used May challenge form Challenge YOUrself.  The challenge was to use the sketch they provided and scrap about YOU and a female (or females) in your life.

Sketch 394 at Scrapbook Callenges

here is my LO for sketch 394 at Scrapbook Challenges.  I liked this sketch because it allowed me to use part of some photos that I had of my daughter playing volleyball.  It isn't very easy to get a close-up of her or a good photo so this sketch let me just use parts of a few of my photos.
I used some net paper for part of my background.  I printed the giant volleyball and used it for my middle circle.  I also printed some small volleyballs and added another embellishment.   To see this sketch and get all the details for this challenge click HERE

Kitchen Keepsake Creations

If you are in need of some inspiration head on over to the kitchen..........Kitchen Keepsake that it.  This is a scrapbook forum that posts challenges on the first and fifteenth of each month.  Here are a few of the LOs I created this month.
The Kitchen Sink challenge was for the birds.  To use bird embellishments or papers or punches.  Here mine:

It is a photo from when we were in Rochester last summer.

This next LO was from the Pots and Pans May tip sand Techniques.  The challenge was to make it look like quilting on our page.  Carmen shared how to use circles with a square in the middle.  When the sides of the circle are folded up around the square it looks like quilt squares.  My quilt squares are at the bottom of my page.

The last challenge I want to share today is from The Pantry.  it is for a Bread recipe.  I used the zucchini bread recipe from my husband's grandmother.    We always add chocolate chips and it is always so yummy.

So if you are interested in what is happening in the kitchen head on over to Kitchen Keepsake to see what is cooking.

Scrapbook Cahllenges Sketch #393

I am happy to show you my take on Sketch 393 from Scrapbook Challenges.  I used some busy "school" background paper.  In grid I added some paper that looked like chalk and a chalkboard.  I added 2 photos of my son from his first day of school last September.  I used large stickers for my title.  Then I painted with gesso around the whole grid to add to the  chalkboard look.   Lastly I added my journaling with my white marker and some embellishments.  That was it.

NSD and Challenges # 391 and #392 at Scrapbook Challenges

Scrapbook Challenges posted their sketch #391 in honor of NSD.  Below you will see my take on this sketch.  I used this photo of my kids from 2012.  My teenagers came to help with the elementary PTO event.  I made them get their photo taken with Santa.

The #392 sketch has 2 photos on it.  I used these photo from our trip to Boldt Castle.  I love the walking up the stairs photo and then the photo of them at the top (on the first level).

You may wonder why these photos look familiar and that is because I have scrapped them already.  As I have said before I am making albums for my 2 kids.  So they often need the same photo in each of their albums.  Sometimes I make 2 similar LOs with the same photos and other times I change it up.  So yes, you did see these photo already.

To see the sketches for these LOs and get all the details on to enter to win prizes for completing LOs you will need to go to Scrapbook Challenges!  So thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get lots of scrapbooking time this week!

You & Me

I used a photo of my kids from the first day of school for this LO.  Our tradition is to take photos on the back porch, or by the tree, before we head to the car to go to school for the first day in September. I used the May 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches to create this page.

I used a piece of my of "school paper" for my background paper.  Then I layered some other papers on this before I added my photo.  I used the alphabet tape, the arrow, and blue rick rack from my "school scrap book stuff"  Then I added buttons, cardboard figures, a wooden house, and fun title.  I used my newest punch to make the small flag under the photo.  Adding my journaling at the top of the page finished off the LO.
Thanks for stopping by today.  To see this sketch and find out all the details to enter their challenge go to Stuck Sketches ?!

Celebrate with Challenge #73 from Scrapbook Circle

A pinch of this and a dash of that...............
This scrapbook recipe was easy to follow.  I used my husband's school photo from 2012 that I recently found and had not scrapped.  I used the blues and yellow from his tie as my color inspiration.
As for the recipe it goes as follows:
1 large photo--my husband
3 patterned papers--the blue paper behind the photo, the yellow paper near the photo, and the background paper
a pinch of wood veneer--the flower on the bottom tight and the flowered buckle on the ribbon
a dash of die-cuts--the butterfly, perfect attendance paper, stamp, small photo and round emblem.

For all the details and a chance to win a prize head on over to Scrapbook Circle
