Story Hour

Here is another photo from the Summer Story Hour at the Reading Center.

As you can see I also used many eyelets on this LO.  I used 9 of them.

I used the LO from XOXO Scrapbooking for my scraplift.

Clear Up

The January 18th Challenge at Studio Challenges is to Clear Up what is on your scrap desk.  Mine did look like a big mess I found lots of scraps and my photos, tools, and embellishments all over.  I used mostly scraps from some LOs that I had done a long time ago. I added a few newer scraps, a piece of ribbon, some stickers left from a kit, and eyelets.  I have a plastic box with my eyelets organized by color, so I used a bunch of these.
I used photos from the Story Hour that we had last summer for the families at our local Reading Center that usually sits empty.  I was there most days and took some photos.  I used a photo from the first session and the last session.

I used the library card paper that I had recently found in a kit.  It provided a background and a place for me to do some journalling.

OLW (one little word) for 2015

It's time for OLW (one little word), the word for 2015.  I chose THANKFUL.  I used a photo of me from when I had the pink strand of hair put in my hair for October Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I am thankful for my health and want to take care of myself during 2015.

The challenge at Scrap YOUrself was to create a page with my OLW for 2015.  It is still January so there is time to choose a word for yourself that will lead you forward during 2015.  To gather more ideas for your OLW or to find the link for OLW go to Scrap YOUrself for lots of info and maybe you'll enter their challenge.

Crop Creations

I was able to get together with my friends yesterday and create a bunch of LOs.  Here are a couple that I made for challenges.

Here is the January 15th sketch from Stuck Sketches.

I used photos of my son and his friend from Halloween to create my LO.  They were part of the Senior Parade at school and gave out candy to the elementary students.

I know it is a Halloween page and of boys, but i just couldn't resist using these flowers.  They just went along with the colors in the papers so well.

This next sketch is for the January Sketch Challenge from Scrapbook Circle.

Here is what I created.  It is my daughter with her birthday cake for her 16th birthday

I loved the fat hearts that came in the Scrapbook Circle January kit.  They were perfect for the colors in the papers.

Stay tuned for for more LOs.

January Mini Crop at Turtle Soup

Join us at Turtle Soup for the January Mini Blog.
Here is my challenge for you

Birthdays come once a year for everyone.
At out house I usually take a photo of the birthday person with their cake.  My son turned 18 this year and he wanted a peanut butter cup frozen ice cream cake.  So that is what you see in the photos.
For my challenge you need to do a birthday project with a cake on some kind of bright colors.  I used star like plastic discs on my page.

You can create a layout, card, ATC, etc. as long as you use the birthday theme with a cake and some bright colors. Please add your project to the gallery and link it back here so we can all see it.

You have until Sunday, January 25th at midnight EST to enter.

Love this @ Great Escape

One of our favorite places that we visit every summer is the Great Escape Six Flags Theme Park.  it has been a tradition since the kids were little.  I have shared many of the photos from this past summer's visit already.  This summer when we went to the Park it was not too crowded and the lady working the gondola ride took our family photo with my cellphone.  It was nice to have the photo since most of the photos from the day are just the kids or my husband and the kids.

I am entering this LO at the Challenge YOUrself #13: Traditions scrap blog.  It is a tradition that we will continue until the kids are no longer home in the summer to go on vacation with us.

Happy New Year!!

What do you wish for in the year 2015?  I wish for more time to scrap.

Here are couple of challenges to get you started

The first is from Kitchen Keepsake.

As 2015 begins it is time for some new starts.
For this scrapbook challenge I want you to start by doing something to your background paper to change the effects.  I used spray mists on mine (on of my favorite things to do).  You can use paints, chalks, inks, or whatever you have on hand.  You may even sprinkling water or another colored liquid could change the background paper.

So go ahead and give your background paper a new look.  I also want you to use some buttons on your LO.  The rest is up to you.

To see all the details go to the On a Roll at Kitchen Keepsake.

The next challenge is from Pixels and Paper.

January is a vacation month in Australia, the kids are out of school, many families take time out to spend with family and friends and a very many families head to the beach or spend lots of time in backyard swimming pools.  It is a time of shorts and flip flops, sea and sand.  Here is the inspiration photograph fro January.

What inspires you from our photograph?  Is it the ocean waves, the silica sand, those arts flip flops, or the bright happy colors of pink, lime, and purple?  Are you more drawn to the blue sky of the sea blue-green?  Does this image remind you of sun filled vacations or time spent at the beach?

In my LO I was inspired by the water and the colors of the flip flops.  I used photos of our water ride.  I loved the blue background paper that matched the water.  Then I used some red and green.  Then I added yellow to add a pop of color.  My kids and I always go on this ride when we go to the adventure park.  My husband stays back and watches and actually sprays us with water when we get near the end.  We got soaking wet this time.
