Christmas Captured

Here is my daughter is the last 2014 Christmas photo I plan to scrap.

At Studio Challenges there is a list of items to scrap on your page.  I was able to use them all
  • Mist--green and red
  • Stamping--around my photo
  • Sequins--scattered on my page
  • Chipboard--the Christmas journal tag
  • Eyelets--on the left of my photo and in the hole of the journal tag
  • Thread--hand sewed XXs in two colors on my page
  • Vellum--2 different pieces under the photo
  • Yellow--this is hard to see, the flower ribbon on the far right is yellow and the paper under my vellum is yellow

Halloween is here again

This layout has a selfie that I took of myself this past Halloween.

I used the March sketch from Kitchen Keepsake.

I used all very old paper and scraps that I had in my halloween stash.  That was the March 1st challenge--Old Stash at Studio Challenges.

Before you go and buy more paper and other scrap stuff use up what you have.  You will be happy that you did.

Scrapbook Circle March Technique : Doodling

I often doodle when I am on the telephone, but nothing really pretty.  Just lines and squiggles.  SO that is what I did on my layout for the doodling challenge at Scrapbook Circle.

I used the March 16th  sketch at Turtle Soup for design of the page.

So if you don't know what to add to your next layout go ahead and doodle on it.

Christmas at the Country School House

We have an old Country School House across from our rural Kindergarten through grade 12 school.  Some friends and I decided that we should work on getting this country school house used again.  So we had a Christmas Open House there.  This photo shows the committee that worked together.

I used the March 15th sketch from Stuck Sketches?!.

I made the trees by stamping the image and cutting them out.  I made some of them glossy by spraying some of them with shimmer spray mist.  This was a challenge at Kitchen Keepsake to create your own embellishments.

Journaling about Christmas for Scrapbook Circle

I am still finishing up the Christmas photos.  Here is one of my husband lounging on the floor after presents have been opened.

It is no secret the Christmas is all about the presents so I used that word several times in my list.  It may not be what my husband thinks about but it is what the kids think about.  Here is a close up of the journaling.

I used my February kit from Scrapbook Circle since my March kit had not arrived yet.  I added the journaling box from a pad I had and a little twine.  You have 1 more day to create your page with journaling to enter it at Scrapbook Circle.

When life is busy.......there is no time to scrap

Where has this month gone?
This month is over half over and I haven't had much time in my scrap room.
Well here is my March 15 challenge for Kitchen Keepsake.

Spring is officially here in a few days.  We finally got some temperatures that were above freezing.  I am so glad to know that spring weather may finally be on it's way.  What season are you getting ready to enter?

My photo is of my house surrounded by all the snow.  The snow banks were taller than my knee for a long time.

I used mostly black and white with a pop of red on my page.

So my challenge to you is to:

Use a photo or photos of the season you are now in.
Do some journaling about this season and how you feel about it.
Use mostly black and white with the pop of 1 color for you page.

I can't wait to see what things look like where you live.

Fall dance for Pixels and Paper

Pixels and Paper has a new photo inspiration for March.

I loved the red and the fancy red shoes.  That led me to the photo of my daughter with her high heels on for the Fall Dance.  I used lots of red and pink on my page.

You have until the end of the month to join in on this challenge at Pixels and Paper.
