My Retirement Tea

A tradition at our school is that the retired teachers are honored with a tea.  This year I was one of the to retire

I used the December single page sketch from Stick it Down for my template.

I also used the challenge at Creative Inspiration to create a page about  a celebration.  Have you hosted or attended a celebration recently? You have until December 27 to create a layout or other project and post it in this thread. One prize winner will be chosen by random drawing.

Merry Christmas

A card to send to a loved one.

I used this sketch from Stick it Down

I also used the Holiday Mini Crop Challenge from Creative Inspiration.

Now if you are down to the wire, you can enter with Holiday cards as you finish your last few, or start on the next holiday, like New Year, Valentine's Day, etc. It doesn't have to be a card either, it can be a tag or a layout, but it does have to have something to do with Holidays. You have until Dec. 29th to enter.

Fried Potatoes

I made another recipe page for one of my children.

I used the October 20th challenge from The Studio Challenge to get me started.   I could only use 1 piece of  patterned paper.

I used this sketch from Creative Inspiration.  I tuned the sketch on it's side.

Towel Animals

I love how every afternoon when I got back to my room on our recent cruise there was a new towel animal.  This LO features some of the animals they made.

I used this sketch from Stick It Down.

I used the ink technique from Creative Inspiration to make the white spots and add the pink ink using an old toothbrush.

You have until the end of the month to enter these challenges.

Laugh & Cheer

I loved using the sketch from Challenge YOUrself to showcase a photo from my cruise last April to Bermuda.  It was not a small photo so I just put it on top of my rectangles, not in the boxes.

So if you have a photo of your self you can join this challenge, too.

Another page for my recipe book

I based this page on the October 6th sketch at The Studio Challenge as seen below:

SOUP

It is Chicken Noodle Soup.  I am working on scrap cookbooks for my kids.  Here is an easy recipe for making chicken noodle soup with left over chicken.

Challenges I used:
***ARTastic Challenge Blog:  Use the Art as a challenge and use Frames

***Creative Inspiration:  Thursday Stash: Use paper and embellies that are at least 2 years old.

So go ahead and get some inspiration and get your scrap on.

September guest designer at Stick It Down!

I am so excited to be the Stick it Down guest designer for the card sketch for September. I am married and have two children. I have recently retired after working in a public school for 30 years. I was a librarian for the past 22 of those years. I have been scrap booking for about 20 years. I I love how a picture comes alive when I add paper, ribbons, buttons, etc. I love research and keeping track of history (my children's history through scrapbooks). I live in upstate New York right next to the border. Montreal is an hour from my house. If I am not in my "scrapcloset" I can be found reading a book.
The sketch made me think about flowers my border punches. I dug 1 out and used it to cut around my purple paper. Then I added the flower paper strip and the flowers with the sentiment being shaped like a flower.

You can see the post at http://stickitdown.blogspot.com/2019/09/september-guest-designer-phillis.html
