Good-bye

I've wanted to scrap this photo taken at my brother's funeral last Spring.  It has been a hard year missing my brother.  It is my brother, 2 sisters, parents, husband, and my 2 kids that are still here that are what is the focus now.  We must care for each other and I must remember to say "I love You" to enjoy our times together.  Enough said.............................................
Creating this LO with my one brother carrying the ashes of my other brother helps with the healing and to remember.
I used Sketch #211 from Creative Scrappers for the design of this LO.

Coffee

Coffee is what my brother, Marty, was always drinking.  This photo shows my son and some of his cousins holding some of the Uncle Marty's coffee mugs.   After Marty passed away last spring these mugs were gathered up and the kids held them for this photo.  The LO was created from the June 15th sketchfrom Stuck Sketches.

Using burlap

Paper Issues has a challenge this month to use canvas or burlap.  I happened to have some red burlap that I had bought at the Dollar Store and thought it would look great with some photos of my daughter playing softball from last year.  I used the burlap as a frame for the 2 photos of her batting.

ScrapFit Challenges

My workout this past week included 2 LOs for ScrapFit.  The first is Step Class #5: Free and easy ombre accents.  I used some green paper in various shades to add at the end of each page and for the stars near the top of the LO.

My second LO is for Warm Up #28 Stickers.  I used some old flower stickers that I had with my summer papers.  I stuck the flowers onto some paper and then fussy cut them out.  I then added pop dots to the backs before I put them on my page in a cluster.  This photo is for NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) from June 2011.  My daughter was inducted that evening and my son was pergorming one of his last duties as being part of the ceremony.  It was a proud night.

Hunt

These photos are more fom the easter egg hunt at Grandma's.  These are of my son and my niece.  I used Workout #69 Sketch Workout with our creative trainer from ScrapFit.
I started by creating the backgound paper.  I squished paper towel roll so it looked more like an egg shape.  I dipped the end into green paint (mixed with some black).  I then added my backgound papers and my photos.  Next I put the title on and a journal box.  Last I added the ribbon by making a trail of glue and laying the ribbon on top of it.
