Charm

The year is almost ended.  Here is one of the last pages I have scrapped in 2023

I used the Dec 30th Happy New Year Charlie Brown challenge at Cookin' Up Creations
Since it’s the last couple days of the year, I chose the movie Happy New Year Charlie Brown. Let’s celebrate by using some gold and lots of sparkle on your layout.

Go See Do

It's Turkey Time so let's talk Turkey . . . . Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

This month is all about this fine butterball and his sidekicks also known as cranberries, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, stuffing, and lots of pie. We will be enjoying delicious challenges based upon your favorite Thanksgiving recipes so get your fat pants out and get ready to be stuffed! This is your opportunity to not only get some great Layouts done but to also get some great recipes from our design team.

Remember - A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

*Winner will be chosen via Random.Org.

My recipe is Jello Plum Pudding.  It was a favorite jello salad served at all our family gatherings on my mom's side.  I remember helping my grandma make it a few times.  She used shears to cut the dates and had an old hand chopper.  As a child we would eat so much that our bellies would be hurting afterwards

My challenge is:
  • Mix things up by us using some patterned paper
  • Do some fussy cutting
  • Add some small embellishments (pop dots, enamel dots, buttons etc)
  • Add a ribbon.  I used stars.
  • Use the sketch provided.  I found it at acherryontop:

Bon Voyage

Beginning the Cruise to Hawaii in September 2022

Here is sketch #539 I used from sketches in Thyme

Here is the recipe from Cookin' Up Creations November 2 challenge :

3 pounds of potatoes - use 3 different patterned papers.
1/2 onion thinly sliced - I want to see some layering on your layout.
9 tbsp. flour - for this ingredient I want to see lots of white space.
6 tbsp. butter, diced and divided - use the color yellow or 6 or more of something on your layout. I stamped the stars.
salt and ground black pepper - the color black or some type of misting.
3 cups whole milk - Add circles to your layout. I created mine using the bottom of a cup, you can create your circles however you choose.

HERE IS WHAT THE CHALLNGE IS:  My challenge for you this Saturday, in honor of The Raven and the raven bird, is to create a project using black in some way. Adventure

A page from our 80's Cruise

Sketch # 532 from:  Sketches from  in Thyme

Cookin' Up Creations:  Travel Agent
I chose to be a Travel Agent today. Where would you like to go? It can be anywhere….a vacation, concert, sporting event even a restaurant or store.

You can count on me

To pick up my aunt from her Assisted Living Center I had to follow the protocol.

Join us At Cookin' Up Creations for our September When I Grow Up challenges

Today is my challenge:     When I Grow Up:  NURSE

My mom was a nurse. She became a nurse when I was 5. She was always the one to patch us up. It was a rare occasion to go to the doctor's office. I was never one that liked blood (I still do NOT). I was able to care for my own children and do small "nurse" jobs. During COVID there were lots of "Nurse Jobs." For my challenge share any health related photo(s) and tell about the event. Also use some circles on your page.

I scrapped a photo of me with my aunt. I had to wear a shield when I went to pick up my Aunt from her Assisted Living Center.
