"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.".......Confucius

This is the quote that I worked with for my challenge at Cookin'Up Creations for August 27th.

My challenge is to focus on an event OR photo that may not seem to have beauty. Alas the story should be told. So go ahead and use that bad photo or photos of an event that is not so pretty. Use the blurred photo of an event and you only have that 1 photo of, or someone is cut off, or no photo at all of an event you want to remember etc. It can also be an event that is not so pretty. Such as potty training, an accident, a mistake, a bad day, etc. So go ahead the scrap those memories.

Tell us the "beauty" of/on your page AND ALSO use some buttons on your page.

Grandpa hunting

Here is my challenge at Cookin' Up Creations for August 13. This month it's all about the QUOTES. We hear them, we remember them, we display them, we repeat them and now we are challenging you to show us your interpretations of them on your paper projects. Whether it’s a funny quote, one that encourages, one that makes your heart sing, or one that provides motivation, we guarantee the challenges will inspire you.

Here is my quote:  “The best thing in life aren’t things.” — John Ruskin

This will be a people/pet theme. Use any people of pets in your life that bring you joy. Show us those that you love, or miss, or care for.

The best things in life are people and pets.  My challenge to you is to use any people or pets that bring you joy.  So show us those you love,, or miss, or care for.   Also include some circles on your page.  I have paper circles, sticker circles, buttons, and enamel dots.

Here is my page

I chose to scrap an old photo of my dad.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler, outdoors guy.

I did use the August single page sketch from Stick it Down:

Exploration and Expedition

Sketch # 527 at Sketches in Thyme

Cookin' Up Creations July 13--National Parks

We will take inspiration for today's challenge from our beautiful and memorable national parks and monuments. Make a layout about a walk in the park, a picnic, or a visit to any park or monument and include more than one picture, the more the better. Have fun!
We had so much fun and were so amazed when we visited the National Petroglyph Monument in Albuquerque, N.M. We took lots of pictures, so I added flip flaps to the 2 pages of my double page layout. Don't be surprised if you see even more pages on this same subject!
