We are strong, no one can tell us we're wrong....

Do you remember the song from Pat Benatar "Love is a battlefield" from the 80s? I graduated in the early 80s and many fond memories come to mind whenever I hear songs from that era. I guess I am telling you a bit about my age, oh well.

I used Workout #59 -Inspired By The Music! from ScrapFit to create this LO. I thought it fit my son. He thinks he is strong...well maybe he is....and maybe he is stronger than I. Did I just put that down in print. Oh well

So in this photo, from last christmas (2010), he is brandishing his machete that he got as a gift. Yes, it was from my husband and I. Probably against my better judegemtn, but boys will be boys. How else will my son learn to be safe with knives and guns if he does not have them and learn about them from us.

More Titus Tubing

Here is another LO of the kids when they went tubing. It was a great way to spend part of the 2010 New Year's Eve day with the kids. These photos just show the girls ready to go down the hill, all looped together. I got them to turn toward the camera before they pushed off. I used more of the snowflakes from the other tubing LO. This LO was created from the January 1 Sketch at Stuck Sketches.

Tirtus Tubing

Tubing at Titus Mountain is something the kids love to do each winter. When the cousins come along it is always so much more fun. This LO is of my daughter and her two cousins as they were about to go down the hill in Decenber 2010.

I used the Weekend Warm-Up #22 from ScrapFit.
It was to use stars. I was looking around my scraproom to see what I had for punches when I came across my snowflake punch. I thought this would be a perfect star. I got out my ink and used my stamp to stamp a backgound image onto some white paper. I then punched out lots of snowflakes from this paper (after it dried). Lastly I put 1 snowflake on top of another using pop-dots. I like the dimension this gave to the snowflakes. Here is a close-up look at them.

Gift

In this LO I used a photo of my parents. It is from December 2010 on a day we were celebrating their gift to the local Medical Center.

I really went outside my box on this one using lots of layers with the ribbon and this paper swirl that I hand cut out from a piece of paper. Here is a close-up of it.

Lastly here is a close-up of a blue jewel star that I found that I knew was a perfect addition to the page.

ScrapFit Workout # 58 - Mini Pics

This LO includes some small pictures of me that I just got back from school. Being a teacher I get a whole package of photos after picture day. As luck would have it mine just arrived in my mailbox a couple of days after this Workout was posted. To see Workout #58 check out ScrapFit. You have until December 31st to enter.

Workout #57 Word of the year

Here is my LO for ScrapFit Workout #57. My word of the year is FAITH. It has been a very sad time for my family since this past May when my brother suddenly died. We have all needed each other. I have come to realize we all need a lot of faith to get through this difficult time. The last time all my siblings were together was last christmastime. We had taken some photos of the five of us with my parents. It is this photo that I used in my LO.

So I will be having lots of Faith throughout 2012.

Dad Helps

I created this Lo based on the sketch for Scrapbook Challenges Blog Hop. It is from Christa's Do what you love Blog. I took this photo of my husband helping my son with his homework last Fall.

I had taken some random shots of my family doing everyday things and thought it was time to scrap this one. I often scrap all the special events, but it is the everyday things that really tell our story. I love the photo and how the LO turned out.

Brush

Last Thanksgiving my sister was home with her twins. I took these photos of them brushing their teeth. I used the December 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches. I drew a teeth freehand, cut them out, and then attached with with dental floss.

Happy Thanskgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. I traveled with my husband and children to spend the day with my husband's parents. We had our Thanksgiving dinner with them and then we traveled to Kent's cousin's house for dessert. It was a restful time.

We also did lots of shopping on the way there and again on the return trip. This part of the trip was not restful at all.

I found this photo of my daughter from last year at Thanksgiving time. I decided it was time to create a LO with the photo. I used the November 15th sketch from Stuck Sketches for this LO. So here it is:

CVTM

We visited the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum (CVTM) last Fall. Here is another LO from that trip. This one has my son with one of the cars he liked. I used the November 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches. This is a great place to find sketches on the 1st and 15th of every month!

CVTM

This photo was taken at the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum in November of 2010. I used the October 1st Sketch from Stuck Sketches to create this LO! I loved the colors in the taxi cab. I wanted to use the bright colored circles to rev up the page!

How many?

Here is a LO ceated based on the "Workout #54- It All Adds Up" from ScrapFit. I was able to use up some old number stickers while creating a fun LO for my daughters 12th birthday from last year.

Back to School 2011

I'm a little behind on my scrapbook pages. So here is my son and daughter from last September. I used Workout #51 Salt & Pepper from ScrapFit for my inspiration. I was to use black and white and 1 other color. I chose green since that is the school colors.

Bullpen

Another photo from The Yankees game my son and husband went to last Fall. Connor took lots of photos. In thsi one Mariano Rivera is warming up in the Bullpen. This LO was created from the sketch 135 from The Scrappiest.

This is my husband reading. I thought it was the perfect photo to use for the ScrapFit Workout #50 - "Be Inspired by a book"

KISS (as in the band)

I wanted to use the tickets from the KISS concert my son and husband went to last summer. August Bonus Sketch #1 from Stuck Sketches?! was perfect for this.
I put the tickets in place of the photo and used blue and orange paper to match the colors in the tickets. Then I used my sewing machine to do a little stiching on the page.

Team Player

These are more soccer photos from last Fall. One is the team leaving the field after a game. The other is the coach reacting to a play on the field. This LO was based on Sketch 132 from The Scrappiest. It also uses red, balck and white for the Color Challenge from Scrapbook Challenges.

Bring it on

Here is Connor playing soccer last Fall. This LO was inspired from Birthday Bonus Sketch #2 from Stuck Sketches?!. I created the soccer balls from looking at several photos.
