Here is the full list in case you loose your way.

Mamba #5

Time for a new challenge at Pixels and Paper.  Here is the challenge photo.

The criteria for this challenge is Vintage style.

Here is what I created.

I was inspired to use some dark colors and make a vintage page. I liked this photo of my daughter from her recent Ice Show. She wears a black dress with the background a winter white scene. I layered flowered background paper on top of black paper. Then used lots of tans, the white doilies, some black string and other embellishments.

What can you do with String?

I usually use string or embroidery floss on my pages as an accent and to add to some depth to my page.  I just lay it down in a swirly line and then staple it down, like I did in my March page.  Today I want to show you how you can use it to make an cardboard embellishment  have more pizzazz or make it the color you want for you page.

I started with this cardboard flower that I have never used because the stripes on it didn't fit with my other designs on my pages.  I had it marked to go in the trash, when I thought about how I could transform it to a different color.

I used this green floss to cover up the flower.  I attached some adhesive to the back of the flower and then began twirling the green around the flower.

I continued covering the flower with the green string.  I applied some adhesive on the ends of the petals to help the green staring stay in place.

Once it was covered completely in green I weaved some of the string into the other string on the back of the flower.  Since the flower was very fat I applied it to my LO with adhesive dots

Here is my finished LO.

You will notice I also used some of the string in the upper right corner.  This is my other favorite way to use string.  Just twist it up into a loose ball and then put it on your page.  I used staples to secure it to my page.  I hope you will give one of these techniques a try.

March is here

So that means another challenge at Pixels and Paper.

Here is the inspiration photo.  The criteria is to monochromatic, any color

Here is what I created.

I used the color purple.  I was first inspired by the heart and the coffee. My daughter loves her iced coffee, chai tea, and other fancy drinks. I found this photo of her and my husband when they were using free Wi Fi, and drinking coffee and chai. We were on land from our Alaskan Cruise and the free Wi Fi made them both very happy. It was available when we bought drinks from a small coffee shop in Ketchikan, Alaska.
So join us at Pixels and Paper this month.  To see all the other pages created from this inspirational photo click HERE.

Which pair should I wear?

That is what my daughter must decide each day as she heads out of the house.  I wish she was wearing the boots this winter.  Sometimes he wears her sneakers or slip on shoes with NO socks.

I used this sketch from ScrapMuch?

You have until the end of the month to join in this challenge.
