I am joining Pixels and Paper DT

I am so excited to be joining the design team at  Pixels and Paper Challenge blog.  Pixels and Paper is an international challenge blog dedicated equally to those who like to work with paper and those who prefer pixels (and any who dabble in both). Each month there is a challenge inspiration from a source of paper and pixels - photography!

The August inspiration photo is below.

The part of the photo that I was drawn to was the colors of the wool on the sheep.  I wanted to use bright pastels in my LO.  I used the paper with the circles that had the progression of colors and matched the butterflies with the same colors.  This page is our family easter egg coloring.  It is a tradition to color eggs at my moms' with as many of the grandchildren as can attend.

I like to use pop dots to make some of my embellishments raised off the page.  The butterflies appear to fly upward on my page.  I used transparency hexagons as my title.  They tell how the kids enjoy easter egg coloring and look forward to what the Easter Bunny will bring at Grandma's house on Easter morning.  The colors were a perfect match with the butterflies and the journaling box.

The smiles on the faces of the kids show what a good time everyone was having.

Smile and Let's sail Home

The Monday sketch #404 for SBC was a double pager. I used photos from our April trip to the Skinny Pancake.  These photos are of my daughter as she waits for her food.  She would not look at the camera so I just kept taking photos until she did.

This second layout if for SID Tuesday sketch.  SInce it is the fifth Tuesday of the month it is choose a any old sketch that was you want to scrap.  So I chose this single page sketch.

Then I used some squares that I had for my background.  The 2 photos are from my kids ferry ride home last summer after they went to Boston for Catholic heart Work Camp.  They had a great time and my daughter went back again this summer.

So if you need a sketch to help you get motivated go to these scrapbook blogs for motivation.
SBC (Scrapbook Challenges) is open until the end of the month so you have a couple more days.
SID (Stick it Down) is open until next Monday so you have a week to complete this one.

SID Tuesday Challenge

Ok, one more post for today.  It is Tuesday Sketch Challenge at SID.  The sketch is for the double page DT members this week.

I had my photos from last summers's VBS (Vacation Bible School) week that I used for my LO.  My mom came one day and acted out the part of QUeen Esther fro me in my Bible Adventures group.  We had fun that day and all the other days.  I also used photos from the kickball game that my son and some of the older boys organized during snack time.

If you like to work form a sketch then SID is the place for you.  There are card, single page layouts, and double page sketches provided to give you inspiration for your next creation.  you can see all the details at SID.  So head on over and see the double page layouts made by all of our team.

Skinny Pancake with frames

We went to the Skinny Pancake restaurant in burlington, VT last April for lunch.  It is a crepe restaurant.  The food was yummy!  You order and pay at the counter and then the servers bring your food to your table. We were given #35 for our order.  I took these photos of my son while we were waiting for our food to be delivered.  My son was "playing" on his phone and then drinking his soda.  For the scrapbook blog Three or More  you must always use 3 or more photos.  Their July challenge is  to use frames on your LO.  I put a frame around my son in each photo.

Here are some epoxy stickers that I used near the bottom of my patterned paper.

I put the phone near the photo that had my son using his phone.

Here is a close-up of two of the frames.  It also shows the stars that I put on the page with pop dots so they were lifted off the page.

You have 8 days to join in with this challenge.

Order 35 and August calendar

At Kitchen Keepsake you will find challenges that are always fun.
This first LO is from the Skinny Pancake where we ate lunch over our Spring Break.  It shows 3 of us at our table with our #35 in front of us.  This crepe restaurant will be a place we will go to again.  This challenge was to use rainbows.  I didn't actually use a rainbow but used chevron  paper that had the rainbow look to me.

I used 2 different stickers for the title and then traced then with my back pen.

Here is one of the giant rainbow gems that  I put on the page with a pop dot.

To see more rainbow LOs go to Kitchen Keepsake.

This second LO is for the August calendar challenge.  It is to use bright summery colors.

I love using ribbon on my LOs.  I often staple it on my page.  I fold the ribbon and staple it in place.  It is as easy as that.

For this challenge go to Let's Dish Calendar Challenge at kitchen Keepsake.

Go Krista at SBC

Monday brings  sketch 403 at SBC.  I used Challenge #1 and doubled the sketch.  It was perfect for the photos of Krista playing softball.

I used mist on my white background paper and then added patterned paper on each end.  I loved doing the stitching on my page.  I did some before I put down my photos and lots after I had my photos glued down.  I used 2 different colors of thread and also different zig zag stitches.  Here is a better look at the stitching.

Here is the title and more stitching and a sticker star.

I loved how the LO all came together with the buttons, star stickers, arrow stickers, journal circle, and circle color wheel.  To see the sketch and find out more about this challenge head on over the SBC.

Road Trip via Scrapbook Circle

Today I want to show you a page I made from our trip to Vermont last April.  We took a day during our Spring Break to go to Burlington.  As usual we took the ferry from Plattsbugh to Vermont.  I took this photo with my iphone while we were riding on the ferry.  I used my Scrapbook Circle July kit for their Challenge #79 Typography.  I used the gray Polaroid looking paper down the center to hold my photo, a camera, and my title.

Below is my title "and so it begins Road Trip."

Here is the top left corner where I stamped  celebrate today and added the sticker special day.

Lastly this close-up shows the bottom right corner where I have the adventure journal card, the #2 as part of my journalling about riding on the ferry, and the word enjoy.

There are lots of words and phrases on my page to go along with this typography challenge.  If you wish to see the details go to the Scrapbook Circle blog.  You have until August 6th to enter.
