Card challenge

The challenge from Turtle Soup February Mini Crop was to create a card only using red and white.  I used the sketch from SID for my card.  Here is the sketch.

Here is my card.  I didn't want to make a valentine card and so I made it more masculine by heat embossing gears onto the octagons.  I used some iridescent  powder and some white powder.

Here is the inside.

I f you are looking for some challenges to do in your scrap room head on over to SID or Turtle Soup for some inspiration.

Adirondack Museum

My husband and I went to the Adirondack Museum fro a workshop to learn about questing.  This is the photo that I asked someone to take of us.

It was scraplifted from this LO from XOXO Scrapbooking.

I started out with my photo on the bottom right and then the rest of my LO just went all over.

I used the heart that I made from ribbon that I stuck on a gluber.  A gluber is a piece of very sticky plastic that you cover with whatever you want.  It is a circle and I cut it to a rough heart.  I thien covered it with some skinny ribbon.  I liked the height of it.  I made the heart for the Turtle Soup  Mini Crop challenge

Sunday was scrapping time for me

Here are a few of the LOs that I created today on this cold Sunday afternoon.

This Christmas page of my daughter was created from the SID February sketch

I loved all the flowers on the sketch and wanted to do this look on my Christmas LO.

Here is another Christmas photo of my daughter.  This LO was made with scraps left over from a holiday kit that was mostly pink.

I used the February 15th sketch from Stuck?! sketches.  I loved the layering in this sketch.  By inking the edges of each piece of card stock it helps to show each layer.

Here are some LOs that I created for Kitchen Keepsake.

I used the same photos of my kids, husband and father-in-law in 2 different LOs.  you can see that I used different papers and embellishments with the same sketch idea.

Turtle Soup Magazine

The February Issue of Turtle Soup is out.  See it HERE.

I have some LOs and cards featured in it.  To see the challenges head on over to Turtle Soup and get some inspiration today.

Happy Holidays

Here is another sketch from SBC.  Sketch 425.

I really had fun spritzing my paper with ink and then adding all the hexagons to my page.  It went along with the fun photos of my kids in front o four christmas tree.

Go ahead and punch out some shapes and add them to your page to make a quick LO.  If you are going to sprintz your page with ink you'll have to wait until that dries before you can put it all together.

Fall

That is for my LO not the season.  we are in the middle of winter and have snow everywhere.  We had a SNOW DAY from school today so I got lots of projects done in my craft room, as well as baked and made soup.

I lvoe the season of Fall and this photo was taken last Columbus Day while visit my sister and her Family in Lake Placid.  It show cousins from 3 different families.  I used the February sketch from Studio Challenges.

My daughter received an individual award and a team award fro volleyball last fall.  I used the arrows so she could easily be found.

Flower card with some sparkle

Many times I need a card and don't have time to make a special one.  That is why I always like to have some that will serve any celebration.

I used a giant flower on the newspaper background for this card.  I put the sparkle in the corners and the middle of the flower.  This fit right in with the Southern Girls sparkle and shine challenge.

I put embossed paper with a little twine inside the card.  Now it will be easier to write my message when the time comes.  This fit in with the Turtle Soup Dress the inside of your card challenge.

Happy Day

My daughter smiling for the camera is always a Happy Day.  I used the stencil in my Scrapbook Circle January Kit and papers to create this LO.

I also loved the wooden hearts that were in the kit.

On a Roll challenge at Kitchen Keepsake

What do you put on your roll or eat with a roll?  Meatloaf is one thing I like to eat with a roll. I use my mom's recipe for meatloaf and it tastes great every time. My favorite thing to put on my meatloaf is catsup. Sometimes I put gravy on top.

Here is my recipe page for meatloaf. :spoon:

My recipe for you is to create a LO that has 1 photo, some string, twine, or ribbon, and 2 patterned papers on a plain background.

Have fun with your recipe. Head on over to Kitchen Keepsake to see this challenge and many more.

Sophmore

My daughter started her 10th grade year this past Fall.  I chose these photos to create my LO for the February LO for Pixels and Paper.

Here is the inspiration photo

I love the statue in this photo.  I visit France for a month as an exchange student over 30 years ago.  it brings a smile to my face when I think of that time.  I was drawn to the letters and the pink hue in the background letters.  I planned to use some paper with words on them and then the pink theme took over and before I knew it I had the flower paper tacked down and the flower theme had taken over.  that is how it is sometimes while creating a LO, you begin with one idea and before you know it you have a completely different idea happening.

So this is what I created.

The flowers were sprouting out here and there.

Pixels and Paper has a monthly photo to inspire you.  Look at the photo and then create away.
