Selfie

It is Monday sketch day again at SBC.  Here is sketch #417

Here is what I created:

My daughter had my cell phone one day this past summer and she took some selfies with it.  I printed a few of them out and created this LO to remind her of that day.
here are some more close-ups of my LO, and of the selfies.

So go ahead take some selfies and create a LO from sketch #417 at SBC.  Or just use some other photos to create a LO.

Sketch # 416 at SBC

It is Monday again and you know what that means....................a new sketch at SBC.
Here is Sketch 416

I did have fun with this sketch.  I used some scraps and papers from a kit that was mostly used up.

It is a photo of my hubby and I when we went on a conference last June.
Here is a close up of some of the details on the LO.

Thanks for stopping by today.  you have until the end of the month to create a page of your  own and upload it to SBC!

A LO that features the color Orange

I used lots of orange for the challenge at Scrapbook Circle.  I used my photo of my husband cutting and sorting coupons before he goes grocery shopping.

I used papers and embellishments from my Scrapbook Circle October kit.  I also used 2 orange buttons and the letters from their August kit.

The challenge ends tomorrow at 9pm Pacific Time so you have about 24 more hours to complete and load up your LO!

Sketch Monday at SBC

Sketch 415 is up at SBC.  My LO includes the selfies I took with hubby while we were at a weekend conference this past June.  I wanted the name of our cabin in the photo so that is was a bit wee more complicated to get the photo.

Here are a couple close-ups of my LO.  I used the camera and a few other embellishments on my page.

To see this sketch and the other DT creations head on over to SBC.  You have until the end of the  month to create a LO to be entered into the monthly drawing.

Fall Dance

Here is my October LO for Pixels and Paper.  I was first drawn to the flowers and the blue teapot in the photograph.  I found a photo with flowers on my daughter's dress.  I then used blue as my accent color.  I used stickles to cover the line and waves that were on the black paper.

Here is the inspiration photograph for October.

What fun ways can you come up with to interpret this image?  Using the colors of pink, blue and green perhaps.  Or using lots of flowers on your page.  Maybe you like the idea of highlighting a teapot or drinking tea or a collection of glass jars in your kitchen.  Perhaps this image conjures are memories of family traditions or a specific family heirloom - a treasured teacup or teaspoon possibly.

Whatever the inspiration, create a LO and link it up at Pixlels and Paper.  Please don't forget to tell us what it was that caught your eye from the above photograph.

Sketch day at SBC

At The Academic Awards Ceremony at Salmon River was where these photos were taken.  My 2 kids and their 2 cousins were all honored last June.   I cut the school emblem out of the invitation to put on my page.  I loved he bright colors in the patterned paper that I had and the bright gold stickers that came in one of my scrapbook kits.  The wooden alphabet letters were big and fun on this page.  I added some journaling and the date under my title.  Lastly I stapled some twine on the page to help frame my page.

I based my LO on Sketch # 414 from SBC.

I also used the Kitchen Keepsake Pinspiration Challenge of the below photo.

I loved the bright colors of the sushi.  This the bright colored patterned paper that I used and the gold circles.  So if you need some inspiration go to either of these Scrapbook blogs.

Birthday pages

This first page is my daughter's birthday cake from last year.  Her birthday will be here again in another month.  I used some pretty patterned papers and added a few journaling boxes, some plastic curvy lines, a fun title and some twine.

I used the sketch from Scrap and Play.  I turned the sketch on it's side and added lots of strips behind my photo.

I put the journaling boxes side ways and then the simple title next to them.

For the second birthday page I used the September 1st sketch from Stuck Sketches.

Here we have my 2 kids and some of their cousins that were here to celebrate the birthdays.  I stapled on my ribbon and twine, sewed on a few cardboard buttons, splattered some paint, added a title and was done.

Salmon River Awards Ceremony

Here is another page I made this weekend.  I used 2 challenges for my inspiration when creating it.

This LO features my daughter who was honored in June for the highest Earth  Science Grade.
I scrap lifted Hilde's LO from Studio Sketches.  Their Septmeber 28th Challenge is to scraplift a DT members LO.  I love the giant cluster on the bottom right with that creeping of paper up the side of the page.  I was able to use some coordinated patterned papers ans some other paper scraps.  I also used a velum journal strip, a gold seal, and some cardboard squares and check mark that I painted green to match the ABC that was already on the page.

The second challenge I used for thsi page was to make a flip it for journaling from Kitchen Keepsake.
I cut the school emblem from the invitation and put t on a cardboard journal box that I attached with staples and added more journaling under this.  Here is the hidden journaling.

Creations for Kitchen Keepsake

I was busy this weekend creating some LOs from the challenges at Kitchen Keepsake.

This first one is to use staples on your LO.  I use my stapler mostly when I am attaching ribbon to my pages.  I find that it secures it well and is easy to use.  I have tried glue dots and they don't always holds the ribbon the way I want it to.  I created my Zucchini Bread Recipe page using the ribbon, some cooking stickers, wooden hearts, an wooden arrow and several pieces of patterned paper.

This next recipe page is for the Theme challenge.  I used apples as my theme.  I found some stickers and background paper that were all related to apples and Fall.  I also used a photo I took of apples and a layered apple embellishment that I had with my school scrapbook supplies.

This next LO has a photo from Awards Night last Spring.  My son is receiving a potential scholarship to RIT.  This challenge was to use buttons covered with washi tape.  This technique was new to me.  it was very easy and fun.

This final LO is a calendar page.  The challenge was to use 10 things on your page.  that was easy enough.  I have lots of Halloween related stickers and paper embellishments.

There is still one day left to our weekend.  If you have time to do a little creating with paper and photos you may want to go over to Kitchen Keepsake and see what challenges they have.

This fifth Tuesday of the month is any sketch at SID

I used the September 2nd sketch for a single page for SID any sketch day Tuesday this week.

I used this group photo from the SRCS Athletic Hall of Fame induction for my dad.  Although he is not with us anymore he was inducted for his many years of being a fan and providing financial support to the teams at Salmon River Central School and the area sports teams.

Her is a closer look at the photo.

I liked this sketch because it is very simple and yet you can do so much with it.  I think I will be using this sketch many more times.
